The Doctors

The practice has a group of doctors. Dr Winayak is the senior clinician. The following doctors work regularly at the practice.

Dr Varendar Winayak MBBS DRCOG MFFP

Qualified 1978, University College Hospital, London. Joined the practice in 1985. Dr Winayak has a number of specialised interests, including gynaecology, family planning, coronary heart disease and diabetes. He is a GP appraiser and assessor of practices, and chairs a number of educational meetings in the area. He is also Chairman of the Hounslow Local Medical Committee and a committee member of the Local Commissioning Consortium.

Dr Heong Chong MBBCh BAO

Qualified 1986 Queens University Belfast, Northern Ireland. Dr Chong undertakes regular sessions in the practice.

Dr Michael Jolly MBBS DCH

Qualified in 1957, Rangoon, Burma and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. Dr Jolly has been at the practice since 1996 and undertakes regular sessions. Special interests include paediatrics.

Dr Samuel Modzabi MBBS, PGDip Cardiology

Qualified in 1996, Lviv, Ukraine.  Previously worked in hospitals including Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle and Yeovil District Hospital, Yeovil, Somerset.  Special interests include cardiology.

Practice Manager

The practice manager is Mrs Sheena Winayak BA LLB and she oversees the day-to-day administration and smooth running of the practice.

 

Dr Winayak’s Personal Assistant

Dr Winayak has a PA, Clara Guterres, who assists both Dr Winayak and the practice manager in the day-to-day running of the practice.

Nurses

The practice has experienced nurses who work under the supervision of the doctors. The practice nurses see patients via appointment. They are involved in all screening programmes as well as taking bloods, ear syringing, routine blood pressure checks, cervical smears and family planning. They offer advice on numerous healthcare topics, assist in all the clinics, carry out health checks and give advice on minor ailments.

 

Dr Winayak's Secretary

Dr Winayak's secretary is Nicola Smith-Wilson. All referral queries are now dealt with by the Referral Facilitation Service (RFS) who can be contacted on: Freephone telephone number: 0800 7567751.

Receptionists

The practice employs six receptionists and administration staff.

Health Visitors And Community Nurses

As the practice has patients from both the Hounslow and Teddington PCT areas, there are a number of health visitors and community nurses who cover the practice.
